JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Research Scientist to join our highly exceptional and diverse scientific team in this exciting venture. As part of a team of research scientists, you will directly impact the development of a new generation of medical device, as it transitions from design to mass production. An ideal candidate is one who is independent, technically competent, and able to work efficiently across multiple projects.

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must possess minimally Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills
• Able to work independently, and in a team
• Strong presentation, writing and communisation skills
• Knowledge of lab inventory management, instrument maintenance, 5S and chemical safety requirements.
• Positive working attitude, initiative, innovative and attention to details.

• Plan, implement and update projects on a regular basis independently
• Modify existing products to meet customers’ new requirement
• Seek alignment on timeline and milestones with stakeholders
• Produce well-orgaanized report as output for every project handled
• Lab process concept with good understanding of the consequence of upscaling to production
• Development of improved synthetic processes for our key adsorber materials
• Up-scaling of synthetic processes to large lab-scale
• Development of new processes for new & improved sorbent materials
• Performance testing of product prototypes under simulated dialysis conditions
• Shelf-life and reliability testing under extreme conditions
• Performance testing in animal trials
• Performance of standardised quality control tests on incoming materials
• Gain exposure to ISO management systems and contribute to continual improvement initiatives
• Development of new standard test methods for special applications
• Documentation according to quality management system
