Research Scientist - Chemistry

As part of our commitment to the delivery of high-quality drug discovery services, we are currently seeking a Research Scientist to join our Discovery Chemistry team. In this exciting role you will work as part of a team to contribute towards the success of Synthetic or Medicinal Chemistry projects.

• Synthesise Compounds: Execute chemical synthesis according to strategies devised by the Project Manager, with minimal support required for common techniques.
• Follow Experimental Plans: Adhere to predetermined plans, consulting with the Project Manager when encountering unexpected results.
• Data Collection and Interpretation: Collect and interpret data for routine procedures, gather additional data when necessary, and seek guidance to ensure accurate elucidation.
• Ensure Safety Compliance: Work safely by following Charnwood Discovery’s Health and Safety policies and correctly assigning against the generic COSHH system.
• Utilise Organic Chemistry Knowledge: Apply a working knowledge of commonly employed organic reactions within the industry and extract meaningful information from literature.
• Accurate Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and timely records of experimental information in the Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) as per specified procedures.
