THE POSITION
We are seeking a talented Research Scientist to be part of Integrated Physiology Research (IPR) and participate in changing the quality of life for millions of people with cardiometabolic diseases. The position will become part of the Diabetes Pharmacology department in Måløv but will contribute to projects across all departments within IPR.
As a Research Scientist, you will be a key contributor to executing the digital strategy of IPR, including data management, data workflows and data analysis. You will contribute to the digital upskilling of multidisciplinary teams requiring hands-on working with data, being part of building necessary digital solutions/tools, and collaborating with the internal partners on (global) digitalization projects. Moreover, you will also work closely together with our colleagues in the Digital Science and Innovation area.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Executing the digital strategy of the area and properly capturing, managing, and analyzing the data sets generated by utilizing subject matter expertise and clear understanding of the link between scientific project goals and overall long-term business needs
- Analyzing and framing the area’s need to utilize advanced analytics tools (e.g. Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning etc.) to leverage complex in vivo datasets, enhance our understanding of the translatability of our models and enable usage of historical data to reduce the need for future in vivo studies
- Act as a bridge between in vivo scientists and digital science and innovation scientists
- Effectively communicating and collaborating across global sites and setting project strategy by providing leadership of cross-functional project teams
- Acting as a digital evangelist to inspire your colleagues to embark on our digital journey
QUALIFICATIONS
You hold a Ph.D. or a Master’s degree in biology or life science and profound expertise in at least one programming / scripting language (Python, R, or similar).
To succeed in this role, you have:
- Proven ability to analyze and visualize complex multi-dimensional data sets
- Capability of thriving in a dynamic environment, working collaboratively across disciplines as well as managing multiple projects independently.
- Ideally, familiarity with advanced analytics of research data, e.g., via machine-learning algorithms
- Preferably, scientific background in cardiometabolic physiology and experience with digital workflows and data types related to in vivo pharmacology
- Ideally, a strong scientific network and international experience
On a personal level, you are an open-minded and a pro-active team player who can easily navigate in a matrix organisation. You have problem-solving and strong execution skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
