About the team
The mission of Compute Platform - Intelligent Architecture team is to empower computing platforms with the state-of-the-art AI techniques, such as large language models (LLMs), reinforcement learning (RL) and more. The areas we focus on are improving engineering efficiency, usability and performance of Data Management & Integration, Data Mining and Data Processing by applying the emerging AI techniques to the large-scale computing platforms running in production at Tiktok.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cutting edge research and innovations in the following areas: Data Management & Integration, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Language Models, High Performance Data Processing systems and New Hardwares.
• Propose solutions and develop solid systems to solve and optimize real world problem occurs in the large-scale computing system handling billions of requests per day in production.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD (or 3+ years research background) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics or related disciplines.
• Have outstanding publications and service records on top database, system and AI conferences.
• Strong programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python, Java, Rust.
• Strong knowledge in at least one of the following areas: distributed system, database system, machine learning, deep learning, generative models.
• Have experience of working with people of diverse backgrounds effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working experience in research teams/labs.
• Strong publication record and winner in international academic competitions.
• Ability to propose and execute a research agenda independently.
• Contributor of practical open-source projects.
