Description:

We are looking for a Research Scientist to join our Cell Therapy Applications department in Nottingham, on a fixed term contract.
We are looking for a Research Scientist for our Cell Therapy Applications department at Sartorius Albumedix Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating the use of our Recombumin products in the Advanced Therapies area focusing on storage, expansion and differentiation of human cells.
The team consists of 4 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.
This position is available full – time on a fixed term period of 12 months. It is an onsite role in central Nottingham and the site is easy to get to, being a short walk from the train station and tram stop.

Responsibilities:

  • On a daily basis you will evaluate the role of albumin in cell therapy applications by monitoring the growth of a range of cells in modified cell medias, the effect of albumin on the cryopreservation, differentiation and stability of stem cells in various media
  • You will perform experimental work to support existing or new patent applications, work with our collaborators to develop their products and attend project meetings
  • You will also develop new experiments and test procedures, experiment execution and results analysis, including DoE
  • You will perform analysis in support of processing as required for existing and novel products
  • You need to maintain up to date records including electronic laboratory notebooks and cell lines
  • You will perform day to day laboratory duties such as ordering stocks and lab supplies, manage inventory, dispose of waste, scheduled lab and equipment cleaning
  • You will ensure lab equipment and systems are maintained to required standards and safe working environment is maintained by implementation of EH&S policies including performing relevant COSHH and risk assessments
