EMBL is Europe’s life sciences laboratory – an intergovernmental organisation with more than 110 independent research groups and service teams covering the spectrum of molecular biology. It operates across six sites in Heidelberg (headquarters), Barcelona, Cambridge, Grenoble, Hamburg and Rome. Our mission is to perform basic research in molecular biology; train scientists, students and visitors at all levels; offer vital services to scientists in the public and private sectors within the member states; develop new instruments and methods; and engage actively in technology transfer.
We are looking for a Research Scientist/ Scientific Officer to join the group of Dr. Isabella Graf in the Developmental Biology Unit at EMBL Heidelberg, Germany.
Our group uses approaches from theoretical physics to understand how living systems can function robustly in changing environments and how noisy molecular components self-organize to generate macroscopic, collective behavior. We are searching for a highly motivated candidate who will have a central role in setting up the research group and make original scientific contributions.
Your role
You will perform theoretical research involving analytical and numerical approaches, alone and in collaboration with experimental research groups at EMBL and internationally.
