About us
The Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES) is a vibrant faculty, as part of King’s College London, and is based in the heart of London with a long tradition of world-leading research and teaching in physics, mathematics, chemistry, informatics and engineering.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to act as one of the key liaison points with undergraduate students within the UG laboratories in the Chemistry department, supporting the delivery of undergraduate (UG) Chemistry and Natural Sciences programmes to foundation and undergraduate students in years 1 to 3.
Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager at the Waterloo Campus, the Technical Manager (Senior Laboratory Instructor) - one of several roles working as part of a wider Education technical sub-function – supports the Department of Chemistry’s educational activities.
About the role
The research group of Dr Micaela Matta is seeking to appoint a research software engineer to work on the EPSRC project “Data-driven design of organic mixed conductors”.
Mixed ionic/electronic conducting materials are being developed for applications in bioelectronics, biosensing, energy storage and neuromorphic computing. However, the lack of general structure-property relationships is a bottleneck for systematic material development.
In this project, the candidate will develop a high throughput computational workflow to discover of novel organic mixed ionic/electronic conductors integrating cheminformatics, quantum chemistry, and molecular dynamics simulations. The candidate will develop and maintain workflows and datasets related to the project according to FAIR principles, supported by Dr Matta and KCL’s E-Research Team.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract from 1/4/2025 until 31/3/2026.
