Research Specialist, C-TIP Integration, Remote

Project Objective:
The purpose of this research is to help USAID to identify Counter Trafficking-in-Persons (C-TIP) integration best practices and lessons learned. The captured information will be used to produce an integration guide to stimulate greater use of C-TIP integration strategies across USAID’s portfolio. The objectives are to help USAID Missions and partners integrate C-TIP strategies into programming regardless of the sector and develop training products to help train USAID and partner staff on integration practices.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

SI is seeking a Research Specialist that will be a member of the project team, consisting of a Team Leader, a Senior C-TIP subject matter expert, and a Research Specialist. The Research Specialist will be responsible for supporting deliverables and reporting requirements, as required by the team. Work will begin in September 2024, and the project will conclude in March 2025. The estimated level of effort for this position is 30-35 days. All project work will be conducted virtually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity of C-TIP programming and approaches.
  • Experience working as a team member on assessments and projects related to C-TIP programming and C-TIP approaches.
  • 4+ years of experience in supporting research tasks on related projects.
  • Advanced degree in relevant field for e.g., International Development, Research, Public Policy, Governance.
  • Experience with desk research and qualitative research, including data collection and analysis.
  • Experience developing accessible and useful technical guides and tools for global audiences is strongly preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity with USAID or State Department’s C-TIP efforts, approaches, and resources is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and oral English language skills required.

Responsibilities:

The Research Specialist will provide research assistance in the following areas:

  • Develop a detailed work plan
  • Contribute to the desktop study, data collection, and data analysis to produce the C-TIP Integration Guide
  • Support developing and delivery of the C-TIP Integration video course and C-TIP vulnerability assessment tool
  • Participate in regular check-ins as established by the Team Lead and management team
  • Develop and participate in dissemination events
  • Participate in the drafting and finalization of any other required deliverables
  • Work closely with the management team and other team members in a timely and effective manner
