Location: University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham UK
Full time starting salary is normally in the range £28,397 to £30,210, with potential progression once in post to £33,938
Grade: 5
Part Time (9 working hours per week)
Fixed Term contract up to December 2025

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

The postholder will provide the research administrative support for the ACE multi-site randomised controlled trial based in the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Birmingham. The study is under the direction of Dr Afroditi Stathi (Chief Investigator (CI) and the Trial Manager (TM) is Dr Janet Withall.
This busy role will focus on supporting the TM and CI to coordinate and deliver the project. A significant part of the role will involve liaising with research partners in the Universities of Manchester, Cardiff Metropolitan, Exeter and Cardiff, the Royal Volunteer Service and the Trial Management, Steering and Data Management and Ethics Committees, organising meetings, producing and managing associated documentation. Support for research processes such data collection and downloading and filing of accelerometry data are also key responsibilities of the role.

MAIN DUTIES

The main responsibilities include

  • Provide administrative support to the project using appropriate tools (i.e. Microsoft Office)
  • Liaise with post award and the finance office to present regular financial reports to the CI and TM
  • Place orders/receipt goods when required
  • Coordinate communication between project partners
  • Organise research meetings and prepare papers. Circulate agendas/papers, take, write up and circulate minutes. Ensure any follow-up work is carried out
  • Support ACE study data entry following appropriate training
  • Provide support at ACE participant measurement sessions (specific training will be provided)
  • Download and file ACE accelerometry data
  • Support the updating and maintenance of the study website and social media accounts
