Position Overview: (12Mth Fixed Term Contract)
The research function within ESG&DI is primarily responsible for being subject matter experts on one of the research verticals. These verticals include compensation, governance, activism, voting and risk. Key responsibilities include managing the methodology for data collection; managing outsourcer workflow; executing manual processes; quality assurance and liaising closely with Product and Engineering teams.
The Voting Lead will be responsible for overseeing the data collection & analysis across a range of Voting topics with a particular interest in fund management vote disclosures; proxy voting policies and other stewardship reports. The Voting Lead will be required to manage workload and processes for a team of outsourcers, have input into the development of the new in-house data collection processes and be involved in developing analytical tooling.
The successful candidate will be numerate and have strong attention to detail. The candidate will be a self-starter who can work without supervision. They will be an independent thinker and proactive in suggesting solutions and work continuously towards improving our product offering.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 7-10 + years’ experience in a professional services environment.
  • Strong academic qualifications (Graduate degree in business/ international relations / law / politics / economics / finance desirable).
  • Analytical approach and problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.
  • Ability to manage deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to difficult workload demands, e.g., time/resource constraints.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Keen to learn and willing to go the extra mile

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Previous experience at a proxy advisor, proxy solicitor or investor communications services.
  • Previous team management experience

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and supervise a team of outsourcers, providing guidance on research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and project management. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on achieving research objectives.
  • Present research findings & analysis results to internal teams & clients.
  • Translate complex voting manager relationships into actionable insights and recommendations for application across other areas of the Voting product.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of new & updated voting policy documents from diverse sources. This will also require understanding; the relationship between parent companies & subsidiaries; and the voting impact of new & historic mergers between institutional investors.
  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of voting data and analysis outputs. Implement quality assurance processes to validate findings and maintain high research standards.
  • Stay up to date with the changing themes within voting policies year on year and institutional investor mergers on an ongoing basis.
  • Have a key interest in using AI to further product offerings to our clients.
