Description:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic molecular and cell biology techniques
- Ability to collect experimental data and handle animals.
- Self-motivated and readily learns and adapts to new techniques
- Works effectively and efficiently both independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, timely report experimental progress or problems
- Ability to follow the instruction and keeping detailed experimental records.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and research experience.
- Experience obtained via college coursework. Research experience in a research laboratory is preferred.
- Prior experience working with small animals a plus.
- Experience in scope/imaging, cell culture, molecular biology, histology is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Perform and analyze echocardiographic measurements of cardiac function and blood flow.
- Performs experiments in histology and immunostaining, imaging (Confocal and MP).
- Maintains genetically-modified mouse colonies, which includes rodent work, and related experimentation (dissections, injections of biological compounds, minor and major surgeries).
- Perform RNA extraction/ real-time PCR, protein extraction/ Western blot and cell culture.
- Collection, preparation, and cataloging of tissue samples.
