About Us
Located in the Centre for Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine at Guy’s Hospital (London, UK), the Sancho Lab focuses in studying molecular cues behind cell fate decisions in pancreas. Our main goal in the lab is to decipher the fundamental regulatory networks involved in pancreatic cell fate decisions using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and to apply this knowledge to new strategies in regenerative medicine for diabetes. We are seeking for a Research Technician to join the team and assist with daily tasks in the Sancho Lab.
About the role
We are seeking a Research Technician with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
Responsibilities include managing daily lab tasks such as ordering supplies, maintaining organisation, monitoring stocks, aliquoting, and assisting with experiments as needed.
The ideal candidate should have experience in cell culture, cloning, CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, PCR, RT-qPCR, and FACS. Strong record-keeping, effective communication with lab members and management, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards and work ethic are essential.
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 1st October 2025, and is a full-time role (100% FTE). This position requires full-time on-site work.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- BSc in biomedical sciences or related field
- Lab experience gained during BSc studies
- Proficiency in cell culture and differentiation
- Experience with CRISPR or other gene-editing technologies
- Knowledge of PCR, RT-qPCR, FACS and other molecular techniques
- Proficient in computer use
- Understanding of the day-to-day functioning of a research lab
- Ability to manage lab supplies, stocks, and ensuring the lab is organised and tidy

- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Organised and systematic approach to work
- Excellent interpersonal skills
