Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Research focuses on maladies of solid brain tumor cancers with a focus on glioblastoma and the tumor microenvironment. Will explore the role of hypoxia in tumor cell function, chemosensitivity, and tumor immune cell interactions. This research will involve animal (mouse) models and primary human cells to accomplish stated goals.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for learning and performing complex experimental techniques and protocols using established protocols; basic tissue culture, protein analysis, immunochemistry, FACS analysis, processing of primary patient tissues, and more.
  • Assists in data analysis and troubleshooting protocols.
  • Performs In vitro cell culture of primary cells and cell lines
  • Assists in and/or performs animal (mouse) work.

General Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of complex experiments and reports results.
  • Keeps organized analytical data of performed experiments.
  • Provides support for equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison to students and laboratory personnel for training.
  • Maintains laboratory supply requisition and management.
  • May train junior-level staff.
  • May help plan experiments or short-term goals.
