Position Summary:
The Researcher V will perform experiments on experimental animal models and analyze data. Also will perform experiments on cultured in vitro keratinocytes, melanocytes, fibroblasts and melanoma and carcinoma cells and perform biochemical and molecular analyses and analyze data. Will analyze data using statistical and bioinformatics tools. Will write papers and reports. Will supervise students and scientific visitors if applicable.
The position requires an in-depth knowledge of the role of vitamin D in skin physiology and pathology, knowledge of melanoma biology and experience in the action of CYP11A1 derived vitamin D and lumisterol metabolites. To be responsible for the overall operation of the lab and to oversee projects within the lab. To contribute to the design, interpretation and writing of grant proposals and publications. To supervise a research team, direct and teach lab practices and to manage lab equipment and supplies.

Salary Range: $49,004.80 - $57,000
Qualifications
Doctorate in a related field and one (1) year of related experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferred:

  • Skin physiology and pathology, melanoma biology.
