PAY RATE: $16.50 (NON-EXEMPT)
Catholic Charities Senior Communities develops and operates affordable, supportive communities for older adults with a resolve to nurture a spirit of purpose, wellness, and harmony among both our residents and colleagues. We offer 24 locations in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Garrett County and Harford Counties and Baltimore City.
Catholic Charities of Baltimore , Senior Communities is currently seeking a Resident Associate who will assist residents of the Congregate Housing Services program with those activities that they are unable to perform without help, always fostering residents’ independence and freedom of choice. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma/ G.E.D and 1 year caregiver/homemaker experience required.
- Course work in geriatrics or related field and/or previous experience working in a geriatric environment desired.
- Must have the ability to: read, write/print legibly, follow oral and written directions, maintain confidentiality; be customer service oriented, work effectively with a culturally diverse frail, elderly population; and work flexible hours.
- Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to and from assignments.
- Position requires the ability to: move freely throughout the building, including climbing stairs; reach bend, squat, lift/push 50 lbs., and stand 85% of the time.
- Must possess visual and hearing acuity and clear speech sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance with activities of daily living, particularly meals and limited personal care.
- Provides assistance with instrumental activities of daily living including but not limited to: telephone, housekeeping tasks,laundry, escort service and other personal assistance services.
- Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical condition and cognitive/emotional status.
- Prepares and maintains resident documentation including verification forms and paperwork related to meals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
