Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Resident Engineer specializing in building projects, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction activities, ensuring project success from inception to completion.

• Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain project timelines and budgets
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
• Review and approve construction drawings, change orders, and technical submittals
• Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and meeting minutes
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction, proposing innovative solutions when necessary
• Manage and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering their professional development
• Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in building projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
• Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
• Demonstrated experience in managing construction teams and coordinating with various stakeholders
• In-depth understanding of quality control and assurance processes in the construction industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Willingness to work on-site and travel as required within the UAE
