LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a Residential Care Officer who is compassionate, dedicated, and motivated to support individuals with disabilities and aged care needs. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to empowering clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: -

  • Diploma, Advance diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in community services or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to residential care services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of NDIS processes and compliance requirements is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess clients’ needs and create individualized care and support programs.
  • Develop and implement training and educational activities to enhance clients’ skills and independence.
  • Conduct client interviews to identify challenges and provide tailored solutions.
  • Monitor client progress, prepare detailed reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Refer clients to appropriate external agencies for additional assistance and specialized care.
  • Assess community needs and resources to enhance access to health, welfare, housing, and training services.
  • Collaborate with community groups, welfare organizations, and government agencies to address client needs and raise awareness of available resources.
  • Provide direct care and support for children, families, and individuals with disabilities in group housing and service units.
  • Assist young individuals in overcoming social, emotional, and financial difficulties to promote personal development.
  • Prepare funding proposals, resource requests, and formal reports to secure support from relevant agencies.
  • Supervise and guide clients in compliance with safety and care standards, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
