Responsibilities:

  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate attributes that allow children to feel safe, build resilience and work towards positive future outcomes
  • Provide the day-to-day care of all children in the residential care setting and participate in appropriate recreational activities for and with the children
  • Assist children to learn life skills in a planned and supportive way & focus on the child’s positive behaviours through praise and encouragement
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding the children’s information and history
  • Ensure that the residential care site is clean and well maintained by undertaking general household tasks including shopping, cooking, and cleaning
  • Lead the team and build a positive team culture, whilst ensuring a strong focus is placed on delivering quality services to children and young people
  • Support the Case Manager with the planning, implementation, and management of strategies to support the needs of children
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed by the team in a timely manner
  • Plan and lead Team Meetings and complete shadow shifts with all new team members
  • Delegate tasks within the residential care setting
  • Complete shift work and in-home sleepovers as required
