Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance
- One to two years’ experience in financial institution or loan office setting
- Excellent understanding of mortgage products and services
Language and Interpersonal Skills
- Good client service and communication skills
- Ability to effectively respond to questions managers, clients, and the general public
- Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a high-pressure environment

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Solicit first mortgage loans. Inform prospective loan client of underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of residential mortgage regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance. Also stay abreast of new legislation, regulations and guidelines that may affect residential lending.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Personally, interview all loan applicants and screen requests based on bank policies and on types of loans offered.
- Complete each loan application and all pre-processing functions and send to mortgage processing in a timely manner.
- Personally, answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Communicate complex approvals or denials to the borrower, real estate agent or builder timely.
- Maintain and submit a status log (pipeline report) monthly to supervisor.
- Communicate with business partners for referral opportunities.
- Promote and participate in special credit programs and other CRA programs.
- Actively participate in local business and community activities and maintain close contact with local builders, real estate brokers and agents, customers, prospects and other referral sources.
- Attend closings.
- Assist in processing efforts as applicable.
- Maintain privacy and security of customer information.
- Other related duties as assigned.
