Description:

We are looking for a Resource Planning Officer to join our team on a 12 month FTC. Location is flexible but travel to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Newcastle offices required.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Resource Planning Officer you will report to the Resource Planning Assistant Manager and take an active role in coaching and working closely with the Resource Planning Senior Assistant. The Resource Management team provides a central point of contact across the Audit Business Line to ensure a proactive and agile approach to resourcing. This role will be integral to supporting new ways of working, ensuring we have the right people, on the right job, at the right time working within a growing and busy department.
The role of the Resource Officer is to effectively resource audit clients whilst supporting the delivery of the resourcing and talent strategy. This is a fast-paced role that will involve managing a varied workload and working across multiple offices and stakeholders to achieve results. This role will require a level of travel to build relationships in offices (mainly Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Newcastle).

THE RESOURCE PLANNING OFFICER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Build an understanding of the needs and challenges of the Audit Business Line and provide advice and guidance around resourcing activities
  • Be a trusted advisor providing sound advice on workforce planning and resource management
  • Negotiate with Senior Stakeholders to deliver resourcing and strategic requirements
  • Ability to adapt to changing resource requirements in line with staff movements, new wins and client exits
  • Proactively prepare and lead resourcing meetings to deliver key messages and resolve resourcing clashes and challenges
  • Ability to influence and challenge decision making with key stakeholders to deliver resourcing requirements
  • Take responsibility and ownership of key resourcing projects and work with other business support functions for input such as Early Careers, Recruitment and Finance
  • Manage the process around clash resolution and staffing shortfalls to find a solution in a timely manner
  • Taking an active role in the yearly budgeting process including training, reviewing budgets and resourcing based on budgeting information
  • Build relationships with practitioners to understand career progression and/or interests
  • Coach and support the Resource Planning Assistant with relevant resourcing activities.
