Description:

DESCRIPTION

Here’s a great new opportunity with us at the Nebraska Department of Education! Join us as a RESPECT Grant Specialist to address Nebraska’s teacher shortage issue in new and innovative ways, and reduce barriers to early childhood educators getting certified.
What is the RESPECT (Responsive Equitable System for Preparing Early Childhood Teachers) Grant? This grant was awarded to create a framework based on competencies rather than solely certification, and creates an alternate pathway to certification for early childhood educators.
If you are looking for a creative role where you can lead with flexibility and initiative, apply today! You will work with stakeholders across the state such as K-12 schools, community colleges, indigenous schools and colleges, and educator preparation programs! This team brings a wide variety of perspectives and lots of expertise to support you!
This position is fixed term, with an end date of May 31, 2025, unless additional funding is obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the Minimum Qualifications above, a Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate and experience in Early Childhood organizations is preferred.

  • The supplemental “Questions” section of the application assists us in learning about specific, comparable experiences from each candidate. We can then use evidence-based equitable practices to determine candidates to move forward. In addition to the required Work Experience and Education sections, answering the supplemental Questions completely with requested details is highly encouraged. Each written response area has ample space to provide a complete response; due to screen size, we do not recommend filling out this application on small mobile devices.

We offer a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, paid time off, retirement and professional development opportunities to help you get the most out of your career and life. Your paycheck is just part of your total compensation.
