Description:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Respiratory Scientist with a strong interest in respiratory physiology and commitment to high quality respiratory measurement to join the team at RespACT in our nation’s capital Canberra, ACT
There is a potential opportunity for an experienced Respiratory Scientist to move up to a senior scientist role in the future.
RespACT is a busy private Canberra based lung function laboratory operating out of two sites (Phillip and Bruce). We will be opening a third site in the coming months.
Position: Respiratory Scientist

Qualifications: (Required) BSc, BappSc or Equivalent

  • 1-year minimum experience in Respiratory Science. CRFS recommended.

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Scientist / Manager
Responsible to: Directors of RespACT

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree in science with a strong component in human and/or respiratory physiology.
* Current certification in CPR/advanced first aid
* Working with children/vulnerable people certificate
* Prior experience in respiratory diagnostics is highly desirable

Pay: $35.00 – $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17 – 34 per week

  • 10 hour shift

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex lung function- spirometry, gas transfer, static lung volumes, FeNO, respiratory muscle strength testing, bronchial provocation tests and 6 minute walk tests and oximetry screening.
  • Computer and administration skills including patient booking and taking payments on day of testing. (our practice uses Gentu Medical software)
  • Quality assurance including calibration and equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working independently to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations.
