    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Graduate of a CoARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program.
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
    • Maintenance of certification under NBRC requirements for those who received their RRT credential after July 1, 2002.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
    • Assess patient conditions, determine treatment requirements, and administer therapy.
    • Transport mechanically ventilated patients and respond to code situations.
    • Maintain and update patient charts with therapy information.
    • Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and supervise students.
    • Set up and operate respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring optimal treatment results.
    • Evaluate medical orders and interpret clinical data to optimize patient care.
    • Monitor patient responses to therapy and perform pulmonary function tests.
