Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Respite Worker to provide temporary care and support to individuals with disabilities/health conditions/special needs. The ideal candidate will create a safe, positive, and engaging environment while addressing the specific needs of each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to individuals in their home or community.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders, as needed.
Engage in recreational or educational activities to promote independence and social interaction.
Maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
Communicate effectively with families and caregivers to provide updates and address concerns.
Document care provided and report any incidents or changes in condition.
Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with disabilities/health conditions/special needs preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
Ability to work independently and handle challenging situations calmly.
Requirements:
Clear criminal background check or other required checks.
Valid CPR or Emergency First Aid.
Valid work permit or permanent residence.
Fluency in additional languages considered a strong asset.
Certification as Care Aide or Support Worker considered a strong assets.
