SUMMARY

The Bar & Lounge Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Marcus Bar and Lounge operations. This person will be called upon to ensure the fluidity of operations while ensuring compliance with Four Seasons standards. In addition, they must demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills, while ensuring satisfaction of customers and employees.

  • Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Micros and OpenTable;
  • 5-year experience in restaurant, bar and lounge management or related field;
  • Post-secondary degree in hotel or restaurant management, administration or related field.

Responsibilities:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the smooth operation of MARCUS Bar and Lounge activities;
  • Be present and visible in operations, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests and develop relationships with new guests;
  • Target the needs of guests by making recommendations and adding personalized touchs;
  • Resolve guest complaints with the highest level of professionalism in accordance with Four Seasons standards;
  • Control operating and labour costs through an effective approach to scheduling, budgets, purchasing decisions and inventory control while also addressing creative solutions to generate revenue in order to maximize profits;
  • Work closely with the Restaurant General Manager, Hotel Manager, Beverage Manager, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in order to develop menus and wine lists of interest while making sure to offer products of excellent quality at a fair price;
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational requirements are met and attend operational meetings on a periodic basis to ensure effective coordination and cooperation across departments;
  • Share daily operational requirements and assign day-to-day tasks to managers and employees under his responsibility;
  • Communicate with the various departments of the hotel and carry out the necessary follow-ups to ensure guest satisfaction and prevent complaints and/or glitches;
  • Review reservations daily to ensure compliance with special requests, regular guests and group bookings;
  • Ensure compliance with financial and credit card procedures;
  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach and discipline the employees and managers of the bar and lounge;
  • Manage and review the work schedules of employees and managers to reflect business needs;
  • Create an open and cooperative working environment in which the opinion of everyone is shared and valued.
