Description:
Job Title: Restaurant Manager
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage and control day-to-day Restaurant operations
- Prepare and manage daily/weekly work schedules for staff based on demand and find suitable replacements in case of staff absence
- Develop, implement, and maintain the policies and procedures of the Restaurant
- Plan the Restaurant’s menu with chef
- Welcome, host and oversee customers that come to the Restaurant in a professional and cordial manner
- Take reservations, take customers’ orders and help serve food and drinks
- Responsible for quality assurance of food/drink and service, manage all staff towards maximum performance
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to employees
- Ensure that all duties are completed correctly
- Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards in the Restaurant, ensure all requirements are met and maintained
- Ensure all equipment are maintained and functional
- Gather feedback from the clients and make sure they have a pleasant experience in the Restaurant
- Handle guest complaints according to the Restaurant’s standards to maintain the Restaurant’s reputation
- Take inventory of Restaurant supplies and order new stock as needed and ensure the purchases stay within budget
- Receive delivered Restaurant supplies and ensure the correct items and quantities
- Plan and add new menu items based on seasonality, customers’ preferences and feedback
- Organize promotions and discount packages to attract more clients
- Make plan and organize the functions and events when required
- Hire and onboard new staff when required
- Plan and implement the regular training for all staff
- Make the workflow plan between front of house and back of house to ensure providing seamless service
- Control the Restaurant’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency and profitability
- Maintain updated financial records, set prices, track and analyze records of monthly costs and revenues, make forecasts
- Responsible for daily deposits, and the correct operation of the POS systems
- Balancing of all daily cash drawers and POS
- Report directly to Owner
Pay rate: Minimum $29.66/ hour Maximum $33/ hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time
Requirements for the job:
- At least 3 years work experience in restaurant management and Bachelor’s degree in any fields or above
- Strong understanding of business management
- Excellent problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Full time availability
- Able to work on Monday - Saturday
- Able to follow a flexible roster
- No criminal record
- Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
