QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3~5 years of experience as a Restaurant manager or in a similar role within a fine dining restaurant
  • Strong leadership and management skills to lead and motivate a team of F&B.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high standards of service and accuracy in administrative tasks.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle escalated guest issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in Restaurant management software and
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests and staff from diverse backgrounds.

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
    Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, supporting the team and embodying the values and standards of Sooke Harbour House while inspiring excellence in every member of the service team
  • Coordinate and oversee the flow of service ensuring that guests receive impeccable service from the moment they arrive until they depart
  • Set and maintain ambiance for all aspects of dining and the guest experience. This will include but is not limited to music, room temperature, lighting and external sound levels.
  • Oversee assignment of sections and responsibilities to servers, ensuring equitable distribution of tasks and optimal guest coverage throughout the dining room.
  • Coordinate, oversee and uphold applicable operational budget strategies including but not limited to labor and inventory.
  • Coordinate and assist on daily operation of the wine program.
  • Hiring, training and mentoring servers, providing guidance on service techniques, menu knowledge, and guest interaction skills.
  • Coordinate F.O.H weekly schedules while ensuring compliance with BC government standards.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with F.O.H colleagues, expertly conveying information about daily fresh sheets, pairings, 86’d items and special events.
  • Forecast guests’ needs and preferences. Offer tailored recommendations and ensure that all requests are handled promptly and professionally, meeting or exceeding guest expectations without fail.
  • Monitor the pacing of service, constantly adjusting timing to ensure that guests receive an unrivaled dining experience without feeling rushed or neglected.
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and special requests with tact, diplomacy, and elegance, seeking to exceed expectations and resolve any issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure that all areas of dining reflect the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and ambiance at all times.
  • Oversee managing reservations, host guidance, seating and table allocation, and available guest preferences to optimize table utilization and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee the smooth and efficient completion of all F.O.H opening and closing duties including but not limited to cashouts, inventory management and additional related managerial duties as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics and competitor offerings. Strategize accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time and have the ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs.
