£37,00 - £47,500 plus company car

We’re looking for an inspiring area manager to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll be acting as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, supporting the cultural aims of the charity whilst maximising area sales and profits. You’ll lead multi site teams and will have responsibility for the effective management of people, resource and budget in your area.
You’ll also be surrounded by people who are as dedicated to beating cancer as you are.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Driving key performance indicators across your area. These include area income, expenditure budgets, processing targets, average selling price , sell through rates , fundraising and customer service.
  • Overseeing the c ommercial running of your area and making commercial d ecisions based on data .
  • Being aware of trends on the high street , and amongst charity retail er s , and applying that knowledge and learning to your area.
  • Supporting your teams in areas such as recruitment, development, retention, performance management, equality and diversity and fundraising .
  • Ensuring shop standards are met with regards to displays and merchandising, stock management and generation and store layouts.
  • Implementing national volunteer recruitment campaigns and supporting other divisional and national projects.

What are you looking for ?

  • An inspiring manager with e xperience of succ essfully leading a diverse team of people , particularly a team who are geographically spread.
  • Comfort working within targets and motivating others to achieve those targets.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple sites
  • Commercial awareness with excellent business judgement.
  • The ability to build networks and work collaboratively.
  • Adap tability in changing situations, including being able to work effectively independently.
  • Experience of leading a retail team.
