Retail Store Expansion Project Manager – Northern Europe (m/f/d)
We are currently looking for you as a Retail Construction Project Manager – Germany (m/f/d) to join our team as soon as possible.
We are JD - one of the leading multi-channel retailers in the sneaker, sports fashion, and outdoor brands sector, with over 75,000 employees in 38 territories and 3,400 stores. In Germany we have over 80 stores and almost 2,000 employees.
As an Retail Store Expansion Project Manager – Northern Europe (m/f/d) you will be responsible for managing Store Expansion Roll Out, Refurbishment and Acquisition Projects to strict deadlines to aid the European Expansion Program. The role focuses on new store openings, extensions, re-locations and re-fits primarily in Germany. The role may extend into other regions as required. This role supports our existing European remit to act as a Centre of Excellence to drive store standards to a market leading level.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Construction/Retail Fit Out experience: You will have knowledge and experience of the European construction and shop fit industry legislation processes enabling you to successfully manage retail projects up to 5 million €
  • Strong Project Management experience with another leading International Retailer with a strong track record in Retail Role Out programmes especially in the German & Northern European markets.
  • You will be able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects across several group fascia’s keeping them on budget and delivering them on time & to the highest standards with particular focus on adapting Cost Management to the required local markets and developing a strong cost focus on budgets and value engineering.
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills: You will have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and departments through, face to face, oral and presentations.
  • Degree or recognized project management qualification.
  • Self-motivated, with natural Leadership qualities. You will lead a small projects team and need to lead the team by examble.
  • Technically competent:
  • knowledge of various software programs, e.g. MS Project, Microsoft Office, AutoCad
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and design drawings.
  • Can adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Can react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Willingness to frequently travel across Germany and abroad.
  • Bilingual in German & English essential and any other European languages being advantageous to the role.
  • Base for this role is in Germany
  • Full European Driving License essential.
  • Must hold a Full European Passport allowing cross Boarder traveling throughout Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Sr.Project Manager Northern Europe you will manage the end to end project cycle of new stores, re-fits, re-locations and extensions to the highest standards. This includes managing and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects to plan.
  • Working alongside various internal and external teams such as quantity surveys, acquisition and design team, you will be required to develop, monitor and control the budget for each project keeping the Team updated at all times.
  • Ensure best practice and health and safety is adhered to at all times.
  • Support acquisitions team with lease reviews and definition of unit handover specifications.
  • Lead and support the wider Project Team delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation, and presentations where appropriate.
  • Strive for excellence in all JD processes within the Projects team, continually reviewing and developing improvements.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans as required.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors encouraging them to take positive action and assume accountability for their assigned work.
  • Continuously looking for new contractors, suppliers, to further support the expansion plans in the region.
