Description:

Prairie Roots Coffee Inc. has been in business since 1988. We own and operate Ambassador Coffee Service & Caliber Coffee Roasters. We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and hard-working Retail Sales Associate to join our team.
Caliber Coffee Roasters is a local coffee roastery in Regina, SK. As well as the roastery, we have a showroom full of specialty coffee gear, a tasting bar, and an espresso bar all at our flagship location in the Warehouse District. We are seeking someone to join our team as a Retail Sales Associate, where you will primarily be on the showroom floor interacting with customers.
As a member of our team, you will learn the features and benefits of our coffee and products to ensure our customers have all the information they need to make a satisfactory purchase. On top of sales, we are all about making everyone’s visit to our space a great experience – including our team members’! From welcoming customers and determining their needs, making recommendations, and processing transactions through our POS system, we strive to offer more than just a quick retail visit.
Duties & Requirements
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about coffee! Some knowledge surrounding coffee and tea (like different brewing methods) is an asset, but we love to share our coffee know-how for those excited to learn. Be prepared to learn all the ins and outs from bean-to-cup!

Duties

  • Assisting customers, both in-person and over the phone/relating to web orders
  • Opening & closing
  • Assisting with the tasting bar & espresso bar
  • Preparing & serving coffee for sampling services at internal and external events in accordance with food safe protocols
  • Ensuring the showroom is kept clean and well-stocked with weekly/daily cleaning tasks as per company policies
  • We ask that our team members are punctual, honest, energetic and intuitive on the job

Preferred Skills & Requirements

  • At least one year of Retail and Customer Service experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, outgoing attitude
  • Willingness to learn and practice different coffee brewing techniques and processes
  • You are adaptive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • You can follow instructions diligently and are capable working with a team and independently.

Availability
This position will include weekday and weekend shifts, with the successful candidate having a preferred availability of at least 4 days/16 to 20 hours per week. Hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday & Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday & Friday, and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday (hours can also be found on our website).
