JOB OVERVIEW

Plato’s Closet is Calgary’s #1 second hand shop for teens and young adults. Part of an independently owned and operated franchise, our concept is that we buy and sell gently used teen and young adult clothing, shoes and accessories. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge on what teens and young adults are wearing and understand what brands and styles are currently trending.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Store Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our retail store. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for retail sales, with the ability to effectively supervise staff, manage inventory, and drive sales performance. As a Retail Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in creating an engaging shopping experience for our customers while achieving store goals.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
• Proficiency in retail sales techniques, including buying, selling, and negotiating.
• Familiarity with scheduling and working within a supplied budget.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and enhancing the overall shopping experience.
• Ability to work within a close leadership team environment

  Pay: $25.50-$27.50 per hour
  Expected hours: 40 per week

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Recruit, train, and supervise staff to foster a positive work environment and enhance team performance.
• Manage inventory levels, including buying and pricing strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed store targets.
• Monitor scheduling expenses and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high standards of store presentation.
• Analyze sales reports and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
