JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Retail Manager, Wines Direct Athlone
Reports to: Director of Retail (then the Operations Director)
Based at: Wines Direct HQ, 1 Magazine Road, Athlone, Co Westmeath
Job purpose:
To organize and oversee the day-to-day running of the Wines Direct Athlone store and its various functions and responsibilities through the organization of the store, its staff, and their duties. The retail manager role is responsible for ensuring impeccable levels of customer service are always maintained and that sales targets are achieved as well pursuing marketing opportunities to increase customer traffic and enhancing the retail offering and overall shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
Uphold and promote outstanding levels customer service to all customers and at all times, through:
· Achieving sales targets.
· Rostering of shifts for the retail team.
· Roll out monthly sales and marketing plans in your store.
· Always being well presented and approachable to the customer.
· Maintaining a high level of product knowledge not only in yourself but also in the retail team.
· Ensuring promises to customers are always kept (eg. deliveries, collections, sending tasting notes).
· Ensuring that retail staff uphold our desired level of customer service as outlined in their job descriptions.
· Organize, host and present at group wine tasting events for customers.
· Conduct regular stock takes and maintain an acceptable level of accuracy in stock control.
· Achieving a level of 0 (ZERO) customer complaints in relation to service.
· Identifying new opportunities for enhancing the retail product range or new elements of the retail function that may further improve the customer shopping experience.
· Ensuring that the retail unit is well presented, clean and products are properly displayed and priced.
· Conduct performance appraisals for the retail team.
Managing the retail staff and day-to-day functions ensuring daily procedures run smoothly, through:
· Organizing in advance that adequate staff are always on hand to take care of customer needs.
· Ensuring that staff are kept up to date with changes in systems/procedures and trained where necessary.
· Ensuring that all day-to-day functions that are to be carried out by retail staff are done effectively.
· Accurate control of the shops cash float.
· Carrying out all functions required of a Sales Assistant (till operation, cleaning, tasting, etc) as conditions arise and dictate.
· Monitoring all functions required of retail staff and of all tasks delegated to retail staff.
· Maintaining a positive atmosphere pleasant for all retail staff to work in and motivating staff through appropriate methods.
