JOB DESCRIPTION

As Retail Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our gift shop in the Ox Shed, providing an exceptional shopping experience for our guests. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for retail within a dynamic farm park environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Previous Retail Experience. Proven experience in a retail environment, preferably in a supervisory role. Merchandising skills would be advantageous.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a small team.
• Customer Focused. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage and assist a wide range of visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Communication & Organisation. Strong communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to Detail. A keen eye for presentation, stock management, and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Experience with retail POS system technology is preferred. Full training on our systems will be given.
• A passion for retail & the Cotswold Farm Park Brand is required. A genuine interest in farm life, conservation, and the many products we offer.
  The role is working min 3 days per week. This can go up to 5 days per week during peak trade and providing holiday cover where possible.
  Working hours are 8.30-5.00. Flexibilty will required on occasion.

• SUPERVISION & TEAM LEADERSHIP:Lead, motivate, and support the retail team in delivering excellent customer service. This includes managing rotas, training staff, and ensuring they are fully informed about products and promotions. Open the shop in Managers absence, and cover holiday periods.
• CUSTOMER SERVICE:Ensure a welcoming, friendly atmosphere in the retail space, assisting customers with inquiries, providing product knowledge, and resolving any issues efficiently.
• SALES & MERCHANDISING:Drive sales by maintaining high retail standards. Oversee the display and replenishment of products, ensuring that stock levels are managed effectively, and that the shop is well-presented at all times.
• STOCK MANAGEMENT:Work closely with the Retail Management team to monitor stock levels, place orders, and conduct regular stock checks. Ensure stock is well-organised, and monitor product trends to help maximize profitability.
• FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with cash handling, including till operations, cashing up, and preparing daily sales reports. Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, and manage refunds or exchanges as required.
• HEALTH & SAFETY COMPLIANCE:Ensure the retail space adheres to all health and safety regulations. Monitor shop cleanliness and safety, ensuring that the environment is safe for both staff and visitors.
• PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE & PROMOTION:Stay informed about the Cotswold Farm Park brand, local suppliers, and products available in-store. Actively promote products, offers, and seasonal items to customers.
• COMMUNICATION:Liaise with other departments within the park to ensure a seamless visitor experience, including the café, admissions, and marketing teams. Assist in the delivery of special events and seasonal campaigns.
