RETREAT PROGRAMMER

Mount Mary Immaculate Retreat Centre is looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) Retreat Facilitator (September – June). Reporting to the Manager of Mount Mary Retreat Centre, this position offers a competitive rate of pay and requires a commitment to work the outlined hours with some flexibility when needed.

Primary responsibilities

• To lead effectively and inclusively young people through retreat activities including prayerful and reflective experiences
• Provide a ministry of presence for students when on retreat.
• To work collaboratively with the staff team and visitors of Mount Mary retreat Centre.
• Prepare and lead games, activities, reflections, prayers throughout the retreat experience.
• Effectively communicate with both young people and adults for the duration of the retreat program.
• Debrief activities and programs with participants to ensure the full effectiveness of the program
• Directly supervise and facilitate all assigned aspects of the student’s day and evening as assigned.
• Assist with the Frassati Youth Leadership program
• Assist with the maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities and ensuring spaces are safe and comfortable for use.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age at time of contract
• An active practicing Catholic
• High energy and positive attitude.
• Must be willing to be physically active outdoors with students.
• Previous work with young people and children (ages 10-17)
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to take direction
• Must be able to work independently and problem solve when required
• Current Standard First Aid Certification and clear Vulnerable Sectors Check
• Available to work occasional weekends
