Working as an IP Reverse Engineer at Signify Intellectual Property is dynamic. We’re greater together through peer learning in our globally diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities. You will be working as a reverse engineer providing critical contributions to the EnabLED Licensing program. The EnabLED Licensing program is a world leading program with over 1600 licensees under which Signify provides the lighting industry access to many Signify patents. You will work in a great team with both IP Counsels and support staff.
You’ll be part of the IP Reverse Engineering team of Signify Intellectual Property. You will be located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The team’s responsibilities are providing insights into the usage and relevance of Signify patents in non-Signify products. Technical, analytical and strong communications skills are essential in this role as well as being a good team player. Reverse Engineering has strong interactions with the EnabLED Licensing team, patent creation, many other parts of the Signify Innovation organization.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a research or product development environment
- Experience with power electronic circuits, ideally LED drivers, optics, spectral measurements.
- Experience with CAN/LIN bus for Automotive (or willing to learn this)
- Experience with Python (or willing to learn this)
- Team player, ability to work with other Reverse Engineers and IPCs as technical sparring partners
- Comfortable in using test- and measurement equipment

Responsibilities:
For Signify Intellectual Property we are looking for a Reverse Engineer. As a Reverse Engineer you will do an analysis on LED-based lighting products, components and systems from our competitors. The analysis comprises the following activities:
- PCBA analysis: Reconstructing an understandable power circuit/schematic from a PCBA; Perform visual inspection, initial and full RE work also including mechanical and optical/spectral analyses;
- Build own knowledge and insights into the RE tasks and the relationship between circuit, optical/spectral, mechanical design, and (lighting-) systems and the key patents;
- Perform measurements on finished LED products to determine patent infringement;
- Provide active technical support to IP Counsel’s upon request;
- Write technical RE reports and documents to the level of detail, including references to relevant patents in preparation for customer visits and/or patent mappings as agreed with the Team Lead; and
- Adapt to the way of working and documenting commonly in use in the group.
