SUMMARY

The Diversified Analog Solutions team in Ottawa is developing wireless integrated circuit components and has a RF Application Engineer Co-Op opportunity for a university student available for a 12 month Co-Op starting in January 2025. The successful candidate will report to a Senior Application Engineering assigned to the student. The ideal student will be required to apply sound Engineering skills to a variety of tasks in the area of WiFi / IoT device evaluation and customer board tuning and testing including PA, LNA, switch and FEM products.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS Electrical Engineering (or related) degree program.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic circuits and principles.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, PPT and Word) and have an aptitude for quickly learning other company specific software.
  • Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience in using test equipment and tools such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources, and soldering tools is preferred.
  • Good communication, organization, and documentation skills and be willing to work in a lab hands-on environment.

The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting application engineering group members with their customer support activities.
  • Assisting in the new integrated circuit and module product test activities.
  • Lab testing of RF circuits, presentation of test results, and participation in customer SCH/Layout reviews.
  • Completion of small projects and task assignments of various degrees of complexity, ranging from device characterization, test environment programming, and documentation, etc.
