  • Work closely with our Insurance, Claims and other VMIA teams to deliver optimal risk transfer arrangements for the Victorian government.
  • Work closely with our Claims Reduction Advisory and Harm Prevention teams to identify and communicate opportunities to reduce the cost and frequency of claims.
  • Provide a suite of transactional insurance services to support the ongoing maintenance of cover for clients – including enquiries, renewal, ministerial directions, machinery of government changes, new policies, endorsements, debt management and general support services.
  • Apply your subject matter expertise within project teams to better understand client needs, design service prototypes and support the development of new or improved services.
  • Adhere to a quality assurance process for insurable risk services.
  • Actively monitor client feedback via formal and informal channels, and continually improve services.
  • Be a shared service for insurable risk services across all client segments.

Who you work with

  • You work across all our client segments and regularly communicate and consult with your peers in the Risk Services and Insurance Divisions to inform trends, market needs, changes, and new opportunities for clients.
  • You are the lead client relationship manager for agency clients and facilitate your peers across the organisation to develop client service plans and maintain a comprehensive view of all aspects of our agency clients’ needs.
  • You collaborate with other teams to design, develop, and implement key client programs and initiatives by delivering insurable risk services for system owners, community clients and at a statewide level.
  • From time to time you may update the Chief Insurance Officer, reporting and presenting strategic programs or initiatives.

About you

  • You have a track record of managing client relationships including the management of agreed service delivery programs and outcomes.
  • You have highly developed communication, engagement and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence very senior stakeholders and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • You have a deep insurance knowledge with a risk management mindset to provide expert advice and recommend effective insurable risk solutions.
  • You have successfully collaborated with professional people across multiple organisational levels and in environments undergoing constant change to achieve objectives.
  • You have an appreciation of the complexities and nuances of public sector management, having operated successfully in such an environment before.
