Description:
We are looking for a Risk Analyst to strengthen our Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) team. In this role you will be required to support ERM team members in the execution of projects and will be responsible for picking up projects by yourself over time. Moreover, you are required to build (including ability to program) value-adding analyses and reports for various stakeholders including senior management. Occasional travel to our offices (e.g. in Chicago, Sydney) will be part of your job once you have settled in.
The ERM team operates at Group level (i.e. the consolidating entity of all of IMC regional offices) and works in close collaboration with regional risk management. The Enterprise Risk Management ("ERM") team within IMC is responsible for maintaining and further developing IMC’s ERM framework. This framework covers all of IMC’s key risk categories: i) Market, Credit and Liquidity Risk, ii) Operational Risk, iii) Regulatory Risk and iv) Information Security Risk.
ERM sets group wide standards on controls and processes and moreover provides aggregated risk reporting across the organization. ERM provides support, advice and counsel to the CRO, Management Board and Supervisory Board on (strategic) risk topics.
As IMC continues to grow, the role of ERM is increasingly important and you will hence join our growing team in Amsterdam with a lot of opportunities. It’s a dynamic job that offers many learning opportunities both in terms of hard skills (e.g. programming skills, project execution) and soft skills (stakeholder management).
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Support, and further build on, the following elements of the Enterprise Risk Management framework of IMC:
- The Risk Control Self-Assessment process
- Developing and implementing company wide-controls.
- Testing controls, which are designed to keep IMC’s risk profile within its risk appetite, as part of IMC’s Key Control Framework
- Performing analyses and building reports for various stakeholders.
- Assist in monitoring, and further build on, IMC’s operational risk framework
- Owning a role that allows you to see the bigger picture and develop as a generalist
Your Skills and Experience:
- Academic background in a field which requires analytical thinking (e.g. STEM, econometrics, quantitative finance or economics)
- Broad interest in financial markets and risk management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills; hands-on mentality and stakeholder management qualities
- Ability to act and perform successfully in a fast-moving and high-pressured environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to program (e.g. in Python) is a plus
- Both fresh graduates and professionals with max. two years of experience are welcome to apply
