Description:
This is a great opportunity for a Risk Analyst to join the Provisions team in Credit Risk Measurement, drawing insight and considering impacts to ensure the Society remains well placed to support our members and customers. The role focuses on the delivery of IFRS9 credit loss provisions, analytics and reporting covering over £200bn of lending across our Mortgage, Buy to Let and Consumer Lending portfolios. With the support of existing specialists, you would develop coding and analytical skills, work with a range of colleagues in Modelling, Finance, and Portfolio Risk teams and successfully build a career in Credit Risk.

ABOUT YOU
As a minimum requirement, you’ll:
- Need to be highly numerate and have experience of analysing and interpreting data, which may include comprehending correlations to credit, environmental and economic outlooks
- Have some experience or evidence of an aptitude for coding and/or use of statistical tools including but not limited to SQL/SAS or similar
- Be proficient with key Microsoft Office applications, most notably with Excel
- Have a passion for developing new ways to solve complex problems
- Be confident in building relationships and communicating effectively to a wide range of audiences, tailoring the level of detail as necessary

Responsibilities:
This Risk Analyst role is primarily focused upon producing, governing, and explaining provisions by undertaking monthly provisions processes, including portfolio level analysis to explain, validate and support the outcomes of well governed provisions reporting. This includes supporting the compilation of informative presentations to forums and committees on the provisions results, presenting and explaining specific components or portfolios to key stakeholders across the business. There are also out of cycle events, which will involve supporting the team across a range of projects and workstreams by undertaking ad hoc analysis and associated reviews to further support business decisions. Over time, there will also be opportunities to support the wider team as an expert on Provisions methodology, output and processes, showcasing key skills and extensive knowledge gained in the team.
