About The PSR
The Central Risk Team (2LoD)
The Central Risk Team drives delivery of the PSR’s risk management framework and is the second line of defence (2LoD). The team plays a vital role in supporting all divisions within the PSR with all aspects of the risk management framework and aims to nurture a strong risk aware culture.
What will you be doing?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Central Risk Team, you will support on risk management in the PSR, providing second line of defence (2LoD) challenge and assurance on risks captured across the PSR.

  • You will support the implementation of the risk management framework and maintain key risk management products and processes to ensure that they remain fit for purpose
  • You will lead on compliance monitoring and reporting against key organisational policies
  • You will also support risk-related communications and engagement across the organisation as well as risk reporting including to the Executive, Audit Committee and Risk Committee
  • This role requires a significant amount of stakeholder engagement
  • You will be responsible for overseeing and reporting on open internal audit actions, liaising with the business and Internal Audit to ensure that actions are managed well
  • This role also acts as deputy for the Lead Associate, where required

This is a great opportunity to learn about the risks the PSR face, implementing the risk management framework and challenging first line of defence colleagues to ensure robust mitigations are employed.
This role encourages interaction at all levels of the organisation and affords strong collaborative opportunities with senior PSR management and FCA counterparts.
Work is of significant interest so this will require regular engagement with senior PSR colleagues and senior-level meetings and/or presentations with relevant stakeholders.

Minimum

  • Experience of managing risk from both a First Line of Defence (1LoD) and Second Line of Defence (2LoD) across an organisation or at large divisional level
  • Experience of providing oversight, advice and guidance as a risk subject-matter expert to others within a wider organisation
  • Strong knowledge and demonstratable experience of Microsoft Office 365, specifically Microsoft Excel

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of best practice risk management in public authorities (for example the Orange Book)
  • Experience in both 1LoD and 2LoD risk management. Mitigating risk through robust controls, experience of implementing and overseeing risk management frameworks, assuring adherence to policies and procedures
  • Experience of quality assuring the work of others
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills including evidence of working with and ability to influence senior leadership. Alongside ability to support and coach colleagues on risk management best practise
  • Ability to draft compelling committee papers, clearly drawing attention to key discussion and decision points
  • Experience of risk analysis through the production of concise but clear reports and MI on key risks, trends, themes, indicators and controls
  • Can evidence examples of delivering outcomes and outputs against tight timeframes with experience of prioritising from a complex workload
  • Knowledge and experience of policy compliance, creation and framework
