Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for risk management and control frameworks? We have an exciting opportunity at First Central to join our Risk & Compliance team as a Risk Change Lead for our Risk & Control Programme (RCP).
Reporting directly to the Risk & Compliance Director, you’ll provide regular updates and insights on project status, ensuring deliverables are clearly defined, understood, documented, and prioritised. Supporting the facilitation of risk management integration and the design and enhancement of controls, you’ll engage with stakeholders across the business to drive collaboration and ensure effective delivery of programme objectives. You’ll coordinate and produce comprehensive reports to track progress, maintaining alignment with the programme goals, and oversee the smooth running of the RCP Steering Committee (SteerCo).
We’re big on flexible working, with offices in Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, Guernsey and Gibraltar, you’ll spend most of your time working from home with a visit to the office when required, but of course, it’s your choice - if you prefer to be in the office more - that’s good with us too.

Skills you’ll need to be successful in the role:

  • Strong project management skills to keep everything on track and organised.
  • Proficiency in business analytics to help drive informed decisions.
  • Experience in reporting and report writing to communicate insights effectively.
  • Knowledge of risk management and regulatory projects to navigate challenges confidently.

WHAT’S INVOLVED:

  • Lead the gathering and documentation of questions, and form a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Understand the data and KPIs across both Risk and the RCP as a whole.
  • Lead prioritisation conversations within the RCP.
  • Assist with the management and delivery of RCP questions with the support of the RCP Team and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as Programme Manager for the RCP
  • Responsible for maintaining ADO.
  • Assist in the design and production of working group, backlog review and steerco reports.
  • Opportunities to lead steerco and will have your own section.
  • Lead the prioritisation and resolution of any incidents and issues, liaising with relevant stakeholders and 3rd party support/vendors to agree actions, owners, and dates.
  • Build effective working relationships and influence across all levels, fostering an open and collaborative culture.
  • Challenge current practices, actively seeking to improve processes, whilst managing risk and dependencies.
  • Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times
  • Ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times
  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/regulations always (including Consumer Duty)

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Risk Management or Regulatory projects
  • Experience as a Project Manager and/or Business Analyst
  • Experience working in cross functional transformation projects
  • Experience in cultural transformation
  • Experience with data led initiatives
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
  • Risk Management Qualifications (IRM)

SKILLS

  • Knowledge of risk management techniques.
  • Aptitude to strategic thinking and operational implementation
  • Personal impact in business and technical discussions at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to drive process improvement, based upon analysis of data
