  • Up to 4 years of experience in Risk Management within a similar organisation or industry
  • Understanding of the application of risk management practices
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU DO

The Risk Specialist will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient risk management processes and procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with the risk management framework. This role, whilst also supporting the local, Regional and Group Risk teams, will involve working with stakeholders across all departments in Allianz Partners Australia. The position will report directly to Head of Risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for performing oversight and monitoring of financial, non-financial and IT risks including activities to support the first line of defence identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor ongoing risk performance.
  • Propose and coordinate actions to communicate, implement and monitor risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits; and facilitate the use of appropriate RM methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Facilitate operational risk analysis and assessments as required
  • Analyse and classify risks (frequency/potential severity) and measure financial impact of risk to the business.
  • Act as secretary for the Australian Risk Governance Committee
  • Participate in developing Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyse and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks in accordance with the Group Risk Management Framework
  • Effectively collaborate with key business stakeholders (eg corporate planning, finance, actuarial services, underwriting, market management, sales, operations, compliance and legal) to foster a team approach to conducting business in a highly regulated environment.
  • Participate in global Risk Centers of Competence (e.g. product risk, project risk, outsourcing risk, IT risk) to support globalization and harmonization of risk management processes.
  • Participate in the Internal Control Program testing and remediation process to meet all regulatory and internal requirements relating to financial, non-financial and IT risks).
  • On selected processes, perform annual walk-throughs, risk assessments, independent control testing for Design and Operatingl Effectiveness.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
