Novant Health is hiring for a registered nurse (RN) for our VitaLink department at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. We’re offering up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus as well as $7,500 relocation.

We’re seeking a passionate registered nurse to join our VitaLink Team! The VitaLink Critical Care Transport Nurse provides high-quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients across all age groups. The registered nurse collaborates with the AirLink/VitaLink Staff Paramedic and other medical personnel to establish and prioritize a care plan consistent with approved treatment protocols, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a Current valid North Carolina nursing license or Multi-State/Compact. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years critical care/emergency nursing experience, or successful completion of the VitaLink RN Internship program.
  • BLS/CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications required. Critical care credentialing preferred.
  • An advanced trauma certification (TPATC, ATLS, ANTC, TNCC with advanced skills) and NRP required within 6 months of hire.
  • State of North Carolina or National Registry EMT encouraged to obtain and maintain within 2 years of hire.
  • Current and valid driver’s license.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

  • Collaborates with team members to initiate a care plan based on patient assessment and input/data from significant others. Continuously reviews and revises the plan as needed based on the patient’s condition. Maintains thorough patient care documentation.
  • Operates and maintains the vehicle safely and efficiently, obeying all traffic laws. Inspects medical supplies/equipment (and the vehicle in the absence of a VitaLink EMT) and initiates appropriate actions based on inspections. Keeps the ambulance in a state of continuous readiness.
  • Completes daily base duties and all mandatory education/training. Stays current with NHRMC and department-specific communications (e.g., emails, staff meetings, communication boards).
  • Promotes team effort and unity when working with the Regional Transfer Center, other members of NHRMC, and external organizations.
  • Continues personal development annually to enhance practice and profession.
  • Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently, completing all paperwork within required time frames.
