FLINDERS MEDICAL CENTRE IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED CLINICAL NURSE TO JOIN THE MENTAL HEALTH DIVISION.

As the Clinical Nurse you will report to the Team Manager, Head of Unit and Nurse Consultant to provide mental health nursing services in the community mental health team over a 7 day roster.
The Clinical Nurse undertakes clinical care coordination as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Specialist Community Mental Health Service. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers. The position works over a 7 day roster on each early and late shifts in a community setting.

Responsibilities:

As the Clinical Nurse duties for the role will include:

  • Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis
  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area
  • Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
  • Plan and coordinate services within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Act as a resource person within an area based on knowledge, experience and skills
