Your New Role
As a Road Designer, your role will include:
- Road Design Using 12D Software: Develop and refine road designs, alignments, and profiles using 12D modeling software to meet project specifications and standards.
- Conceptual and Detailed Design: Create both preliminary and detailed design solutions for urban, rural, and highway road projects.
- Surface Modeling and Grading: Generate and manage 3D surface models, earthworks, and grading designs.
- Drainage Design Integration: Incorporate stormwater drainage systems into road designs, including culverts, gutters, and swales, ensuring compliance with hydrological requirements.
- Cross-Section and Pavement Design: Prepare cross-sectional designs and specify pavement layers, materials, and thicknesses.
- Design Documentation: Produce high-quality design documentation, including plans, sections, schedules, and reports, for client approval and construction.
- Compliance with Standards: Ensure designs adhere to relevant local and international design codes, safety standards, and regulations.
What you’ll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Civil Design / Engineering consultancy environment
- Bachelor’s degree is highly regarded
- Intermediate to strong skills using 12D or Civil 3D (MX experienced candidates will also be considered)
- Experience working on Australian projects
- Great communication skills and a desire to learn and develop new skills from others
