Halff has an opening for a Civil Engineer (EIT/PE) in our Houston, TX office with our Transportation team. The ideal candidate would have experience in Transportation Design and PS&E / Schematic Design. This position will be primarily responsible for performing Transportation Design on roadway & highway design projects for TxDOT and other agencies. Civil Engineer - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design Responsibilities:

• Works under a Team Leader in the development of roadway design and PS&E/Schematic Design
• Manages transportation projects or tasks in support of business needs
• Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT’s, and technical staff
• Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
• Reports on project progress
• Collaborates with clients and other consultants
• Assists with business development activities

Civil Engineer - Transportation PS&E / Schematic Design Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
• Passed Professional Engineer (P.E.) exam
• Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in the State of Texas preferred
• A minimum of 1 to 6 years of progressive design experience on transportation projects
• MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) experience
• Experience managing design and plan production
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong decision making skills
• A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
