Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
As a Robotics and Vision Engineer at Mergon, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced robotics and vision systems for our automation equipment used in manufacturing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including robotics, machine vision, and control systems, to design, program, and integrate automated solutions. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team to design robotic and vision systems that improve efficiency, quality, and safety in production processes. This hands-on role requires both technical expertise and innovative thinking to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate robotics and vision systems into automation equipment to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Program and configure robotic arms, end-effectors, and vision systems to meet specific application requirements.
- Develop programmes for machine vision tasks such as object recognition, tracking, and inspection.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure seamless integration of robotics and vision systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with robotics and vision systems during development, installation, and production phases.
- Conduct testing and validation of robotic and vision systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
- Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in robotics and/or vision system design and integration, preferably in an industrial automation environment
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar, and experience with PLC programming
- Proficiency in robotics and vision systems is essential,
- Strong understanding of machine vision programming and image processing techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines
- Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with control systems and network communication protocols is a plus
