The Te Tari Tohutohu Tāke (Tax Counsel Office) at Inland Revenue is responsible for giving tax technical advice, specifically about the interpretation and application of taxation law. We supply a range of related advice and services to both internal and external customers. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities:
- Ability to carry out tax technical research, interpretation, high-quality analysis and opinion writing on issues which are often complex and difficult.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Background in tax law is essential.
- Qualifications:
- A law degree and eligibility to hold a practising certificate is needed for a Rōia Tāke (Tax Counsel) role.
- An applicant with an accounting degree with the right experience would also be considered, but with the alternative title of Mātanga Tāke (Tax Specialist)
