Description:
The post holder will complete 9 monthly rotations throughout the Integrated Therapy Directorate, this includes rotations based in Stepping Hill Hospital and many based across the community services of Stockport. They will be responsible for providing a high standard of physiotherapy to all patients. They will participate in the emergency out of hours on-call evening and weekend respiratory rota in addition to working in seven day services. They will be an autonomous practitioner, both professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their HCPC proficiencies and clinical work.
A driving license with suitable business insurance is essential for this position. They will assess, diagnose, plan and deliver treatment programs to patients in their care. Main Duties and Responsibilities To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme and organise safe and timely discharge. To be responsible for your own caseload and a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, team in service training and 1-1 supervision with the team leader. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. Supervise, educate and assess the performance of Physiotherapy Students (this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification). This role is preceded by a clinical educators course.
Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice Make recommendations to clinical team leader for changes to practice. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service guidelines. To provide regular supervision to junior physiotherapy and assistant staff on the team. To participate in the on-call respiratory rota.
