Description:
With our partners, Imperial College London, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, we form Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, one of 11 academic health science centres in the UK, working to ensure the rapid translation of research for better patient care and excellence in education.
Following internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic OT to join our Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation which operates across our 3 main sites: St Mary’s hospital - the major trauma centre for the North West London network, Charing Cross hospital which is a specialist stroke and neuroscience centre and Hammersmith hospital where the specialist heart attack centre is situated.
Rotations take place every six months with rotations in; elective orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma, surgical rehab and cardiology, renal medicine, stroke, neurology & neurosurgery, respiratory medicine, acute medicine, major trauma, Charing Cross Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (CNRU), medicine for the elderly, elderly rehabilitation and oncology. All Band 5s are expected to undertake a mixture of rotations across the 3 sites. Please note now to avoid any disappointment later, it will not be possible to undertake all your rotations within one clinical specialism eg neurosciences, or at one particular site.
To manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate clinical supervision.
To consolidate and develop expertise across the 4 pillars of practice (clinical, leadership, education and research )
To be responsible for own Continual Professional and Personal Development (CPPD).
To work effectively within the team, department and organisation
To contribute to service improvement, evaluation, audit and research programmes.
